The Tanara Metalli was founded immediately after the Second World War, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of the brothers Antonio and Angelo Tanara, who started their warehouse and metal business in Milan downtown.
The new opportunities created with the Italian“economic boom”pushed the Tanara brothers to make the first, important choices those give the company the characteristics those still distinguish the business, transforming it from simple metal trade to a refinery for non-ferrous metals.
The decease of Angelo, leaves the management of the company on the shoulders of the only Dr. Antonio Tanara. The company now relies on specialized foundry staff, able to ensure the production of a quality product, aimed at a clientele composed by Italian companies mainly belonging to two types: companies producing industrial components in bronze from a side, and artistic foundries and foundries of bells on the other. In this period Antonio‘s son, Dr. Paolo Tanara, began to collaborate in the company, learning from his father all his specific skills and abilities, which over the years had brought the company’s name to a high level of satisfaction and reliability among its customers.
1981 is the year of the company’s first major generational shift, imposed by the untimely death of Dr. Antonio Tanara, founder of the company. Paolo, a twenty-eight year-old fresh graduate at the Bocconi University in Milan, is thus projected towards the important challenge of taking the helm of the company and leading it towards new goals in the coming decades.
The company moves to the Via Risorgimento plant, in Mazzo di Rho, in the heart of the industrial area that is now located between the Expo area and the Milan Trade Fair.
The Tanara Metalli, driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of Dr. Paolo Tanara, becomes active towards a more varied clientele. The activity opens up to foreign trade, both for sale and for purchase. The company name is known in the sector at European level as a synonym of product quality and certainty of professionalism, punctuality and reliability of the service.
After leading the company for 35 years, Dr. Paolo Tanara leaves us prematurely, leaving the vivid memory of his entrepreneurial skills and personal qualities in all the operators of the sector.
Paolo’s sons, Antonio, Lorenzo and Cesare, take up the challenge launched by their fate, and are committed to the continuation of the company’s activity, with the aim of projecting it into the future with their passion, skills, and the will to continue the work along the path traced by their father and their grandfather.
